Resilience (2004), by Jeff Kimball
24 x 36 layered acrylic on canvass.
About the work: Started when my wife was diagnosed with a terminal cancer, I created successive layers throughout her treatment, inspired by her determination and resilience through enormous challenges. The inherent chaos represented by the demonstrative bright strokes confronts the reinforcing broad under-strokes, modeling the resilience needed to work through obstacles and find meaning and hope.
